Suggested Discussion Questions

You may wish to use any of the following questions as springboards for an interactive discussion between you and your mentee to help him or her begin to explore and use the wide range of tools and resources available to support the performance measurement process:
  • In what content areas is the mentee already most comfortable? Where will he or she need to “stretch” to find and use appropriate measures and benchmarks? Can you help the mentee find basic resources in these areas?
  • What skills required by performance measurement does the mentee see as new? For example, does he or she know how to prepare an acceptable trend graph? Suggest tools and any individuals (other than yourself) who may be of assistance in these areas.
